Quintessence AI is a research centre dedicated to the deep impacts of AI and digital technologies on society. We work to produce new knowledge and to share it with as many people as possible. Our transdisciplinary approaches allow us to produce holistic knowledge to understand the world in its complexity.
Research is our main activity, but it does not end with academic papers. We inform governments, private actors and civil society about our findings, helping people navigate the information noise.

Who we are looking for
Researchers passionate about the deepest questions of AI
Research areas: responsible AI (fairness, transparency, explainability, environmental impacts) · AI and work (jobs, skills, professional interactions) · AI safety (alignment, evaluations, hallucinations, vulnerabilities, multi-agent systems) · human-computer interaction (LLMs' influence on behaviour, cognitive overload, persuasive techniques) · social media (misinformation, hate speech, social influence).
Backgrounds: mathematics, computer science and statistics, economics and econometrics, cognitive science, psychology, anthropology, sociology, philosophy. We particularly value technical and transdisciplinary profiles. English fluency is required; industry experience is a plus.
Open positions
All positions are full-time and on site in Paris: remote applications will not be considered. Applicants must be legally allowed to work in France.
- PhD candidates

Requirements: a master's degree in one of the research fields listed above and affiliation with a doctoral school. Publications are a plus.
- Postdoctoral fellows

Requirements: a doctoral degree and a publication track record in top academic venues.
